Professional headshots tailored to suit your needs, perfect for LinkedIn, website profiles, social media, dating apps, modelling or acting portfolios.
To get started on your new headshots I will ask that you please let me know if you would prefer a studio or location session (or both). Information about this is listed below.
Shoots typically range from 30mins - 1 hour, however they can go longer if you are an actor or model that requires more looks. I can help you out with direction and posing.
Makeup & Hair
Hair and makeup is not included in my packages, this will be something you will need to organise yourself, however, I can send through a big list of recommendations! I do not know how much hair and makeup costs, every artist is different.
What to Wear
I recommend wearing simple attire that won't distract away from your face, however, your clothing choices are up to you as it depends what your headshot will be used for.
I usually recommend studio shoots over location shoots because lighting can be controlled to suit your face, I have a decent range of coloured backdrops to choose from, and weather won't get in the way. My studio is in Northcote close by to Northcote Station and High Street trams, because studio shoots don't rely on natural light they can be booked any time, including after business hours.
You can view all coloured backdrop options at the bottom of this page under the pricing section.
Please note* A warning for those with allergies, my studio warehouse in Northcote is also home to 2 resident cats.
My studio is wheelchair accessible.
If you are after a location session, please keep in mind that the background won't be a massive feature in your portraits (as we are only working with head and shoulders). Location backdrops are usually out of focus (blurry) and are mainly used to give the headshot more interest, colour or texture. If this suits you, all you have to do is let me know what kind of backdrop you would prefer (e.g. leafy-green, urban/street style, brick walls, city buildings etc.).
If you require me to travel more than 30 minutes out of Melbourne CBD travel fees will be discussed and included on the invoice.
For location shoots I will mainly rely on natural lighting, so the best time of day to shoot is in the late afternoon when the sun is at it's lowest (which varies depending on the time of year). If you can't shoot at this time, we can focus on shady areas, and I can bring a portable light if needed.
Why Not Both?
If you would prefer a more extended session and want to have a studio and location shoot in one day, this can be arranged for an additional fee which can be quoted. Please note, you will need to have decided on your location before I can give you an accurate quote.
Alternatively, many clients opt to shoot half in the studio, and then we head outside for some extra shots on the street in Northcote. This way, you get the best of both worlds without the added travel time or any extra fees.
